Benefits of A Shower Filter

Buying a shower filter was one of the best investments I have made this year! I’ve seen so many benefits to it, I honestly can’t believe I didn’t know about this tool before.

Shower filters are known for removing excess chlorine, getting rid of heavy metals, and hard water. If you are someone who lives in a big US city, like me, you would especially benefit from a shower filter. Big cities require a lot more chlorine to keep water clean. It’s also possible you have old pipes that rust and may be releasing some of those metals into your water stream. The hard water is also what causes the white-ish build on your sink. Just as you wouldn’t drink water from the tap, why is it okay to put it on your skin? With all that said you can already imagine what it’s doing to you.

That brings me to my next point, which is the benefits of having a water filter. I’ll start with my own personal experience and say buying a water filter instantly relieved my scalp. For a long time I struggled with lots of dandruff on my scalp that would also cause a lot of itchiness. On top of that it would get oily quickly after only a day of not washing it. We all know thanks to the beauty gurus that we should not be washing our hair daily, but I hated the look of oily hair. After my first wash with a water filter I felt an instant relief to my scalp and within a couple of weeks my dandruff completely disappeared. I also noticed my hair didn’t get as oily as quickly. Probably partially because there was less build up on my scalp and less using my hands to scratch and satisfy an itch. My hair also felt softer and silkier. I never realized how rough my hair was until after using a shower filter. Lastly, I also felt my skin a lot softer. Thankfully, I never really struggled too much with any serious skin issues, but I definitely noticed a difference.

It doesn’t end there. I have seen people notice a reduction in hair loss thanks to installing a shower filter. There are even sink filters that have helped people struggling with acne, eczema, and other skin issues on the face. Now there are many different kinds of acne so I’m not saying it can help everyone, but if you have sensitive skin you might want to try a water filter. There are especially many reviews from Filter Baby that have proven to clear skin and restore moisture.

My current favorite shower filter is from AquaBliss. Which you can find on Amazon. It is affordable and super easy to install. I do receive a small commission but it is at no extra cost to you.

There you have it. All the benefits to having a shower filter. I definitely don’t think I’ll ever go back!
